Alexis Olin (born in Kyiv, Ukraine) is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, sculpture, digital art, photography, illustration, and textile design. His career spans more than two decades and is shaped by a lifelong fascination with visual systems, emotional patterns, and habitual processes. Known for fusing precision with instinct, his work explores the tension between structural control and raw expression.
Olin began his artistic journey in the early 2000s as editor in chief of K9, a cult Ukrainian comics magazine that ran for nearly a decade. Deeply influenced by the Franco Belgian tradition of graphic novels, his early practice laid the foundation for a visual language built on rhythm, symbolic repetition, and clean linework. Later, fashion and photography expanded this vision. In 2016, he founded Métrique, a clothing label translating his paintings and photographic works into wearable forms.
In recent years, his practice has evolved into a hybrid dialogue between analog and digital media. His paintings, sculptures, and visual works created with acrylic, oil pastel, spray paint, photography, and digital techniques explore the intersection of habit and emotion, discipline and release. Recurring symbols including gloved hands, eyes, blades, rabbits, and abstract geometric forms appear throughout his work, evoking memory, childhood ritual, obsessive focus, and the fragile balance between tension and calm.
Alongside painting, Olin has recently expanded into sculpture through the creation of collectible rabbit figures that extend the emotional and symbolic universe of his paintings into physical form. These sculptural works combine toy culture, contemporary art, and personal mythology, continuing his interest in repetition, identity, and meditative states.
Olin’s work has been exhibited across Europe, the United States, and Asia through contemporary galleries, independent exhibitions, and digital art platforms. For Alexis, every medium whether canvas, sculpture, textile, photography, or digital space becomes a language for emotional transmission. At the core of his practice lies a belief that clarity in art emerges not only from inspiration, but from repetition, persistence, and the quiet discipline of returning to the work every day.
